Birthday Present

on Friday i received a very lovely birthday present, a very good friend gave me some money, with the instruction to spend it on myself, not to buy anything i was already planning on buying, or anything "practical" but to buy stuff i wouldn't normally buy. so off to the mall we went. I got some new dresses, a few shirts and 2 pairs of new shoes. i hadn't spent that much money on myself since before i had kids.( i also hadn't tried that many things on in a long time!!) i think as a mom you tend to put others needs in front of your own. it was so neat to have a day to spoil myself. it really meant a lot to me that this friend would be so generous and so thoughtful to know that i needed that permission to treat myself. it wasn't the amount of money or the things i bought but rather the love and thoughtfulness behind it that made it truly wonderful.
