How firm a foundation

I have been thinking about this Hymn a lot lately. i have been singing it around the house and catch my kids singing it also. i love the whole thing but these verses have really struck a chord with me lately:

In ev'ry condition - in sickness in health,
In poverty's vale, or abounding in wealth,
At home and abroad, on the land, on the sea,
As thy days may demand, so thy succor shall be.

Fear not, I am with thee; oh, be not dismayed,
For I am thy God and will still give thee aid.
I’ll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand,
Upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand.
(“How Firm a Foundation,” Hymns, no. 85)

particularly the line "as thy days may demand, so thy succor shall be" to me that says that as our needs change, by the hour, by the day, by the season in our lives, the Lord will adjust his aid accordingly. Knowing that i have a Father in Heaven that is attune to my needs and my aliments is so comforting. Knowing that whatever the road ahead holds for me that He will be there. now don't think that anything is wrong, we are doing great! I think this song is a wonderful reminder that even when things are great the Lord is still there and will still give thee aid. We are never without the need of our Father in Heaven, i know i need his strength everyday, even on the great days.

God makes my great days great! I completely agree. hymns are a great way to bring the Spirit in and a great way for God to communicate with us.
